Specialty Whole Grain Bread of the Week - Shipped to you!
You can pick & choose or subscribe and get a loaf of our 100% Whole Grain Specialty Bread sent to you weekly!
The bread changes each week and overall, we have about 25 different - 100% whole grain breads...it's a bread adventure! Check out our Whole Grain Baking Schedule here to see what we are baking next.
Please read this before ordering!
1) We ship bread on Tuesdays. This bread is baked on Friday and frozen until we ship it. It thaws in transit.
2) We encourage you to warm or toast the bread before eating it. Warming/toasting helps bring the texture to nearly fresh baked consistency.
3) Slice and freeze. This is real bread and real bread molds. We can't slice your bread for you...these loaves are too dense to run through our bread slicer.
4) Beck's Bakery is in Arcata, CA, a rural town in far Northern California - almost Oregon. Mail delivery times can vary. Especially if there has been a landslide and the road is closed (unfortunately, its not unusual).
5) There are 3 ways to find out which bread is up next: a) the subscription bread of the week is announced via the "Bread Letter" on Wednesdays (sign-up for our emails) b) you can also just go to the Farmers' Market Menu to see what it is, it is listed first and I update it on Wednesdays. c) Check out the Whole Grain Bread Schedule here. Sorry no substitutions. If you don't want it, skip that week.

Specialty Whole Grain Bread of the Week - Shipped to you!
This is a pretty famous small, authentic artisan bread bakery that I was fortunate to recently discover.
I don't live near Arcata, but lucky for people like me, THEY SHIP their bread of the week most weeks.
So I tried my first order last week, the "Bavarian Hausbrot Rye", and it is such a delicious, hearty, little loaf packed with flavor and the best ingredients, long-fermented healthy sourdough.
I slice and freeze all real bread (no preservatives, so doesn't last), and my favorite way to eat this one so far is to wet a slice quickly with running water from the faucet, shake it off good, and then extra-long toast it until it is just shy of being toasted, and it seems like just-baked, completely moist and delicious with such rich flavor!!
And the owner Rhonda seems like an amazing real person who truly cares about her customers, community, and the world at large. The few questions I've had she's replied pretty quickly and personally, definitely addressing any questions I've had fully.
I will be trying lots more breads over time, to the extent Rhonda chooses to keep the business going and keeps the shipping program available. 🤞🏻
The people in and around Arcata are especially lucky to have this gem right in their backyard and can get this level of bread made with such care and love for even less, well, dough 😉! You'd be wise to avail yourself of that while you can. Having said that, shipping is quite reasonable.
Thank you Rhonda and any other crew involved!
Discovered this wonderful place while attending Arcata Farmer's Market. The products they offer are so flavorful, the breads, brownies ane cookies to name a few.
